PLANT TORTURE (poem 87)

Do plants have a nervous system?

Are they sentient or have a brain?

Does a sweet potato suffer?

Does a corn stalk feel pain?

​

Does it hurt them when you pluck them from the ground or off a tree?

There are some folks who say "yes," while some others disagree.

​

Are they scared when you harvest them and keep from letting them grow?

If you care about their feelings,

here's a fact that you should know.

​

The majority of the plants we grow

are fed to farmed animals.

Cut out the animals and fewer plants will die.

Be vegan to minimize the torture that we cause those plants.

​

Be vegan to insure that fewer

carrots have to cry.
