THREE MEALS (poem 82)

by Vivian Chinelli

This morning he ate his pig and said,

"She was a delicious meal, of course!"

For lunch, he plans to eat his dog and

for dinner, he'll eat his horse.

He will say, "I need them for protein.

Plus I gave them a good life," and yet,

you'll probably disagree with

Meal 2 and Meal 3,

and are outraged by those choices, I bet.

But a pig is a dog, is a horse, is a child,

and we all feel joy and sadness.

So be vegan and

see the connection between us.

Let's work to end all this madness.
