THINK (poem 94)

​

There's so much time to think,

and lots of time to reflect 

​on things we thought were important

and the important stuff we neglect.

​

You were taught to keep your focus

on your looks, fortune and fame.

You've been blindly walking through your life

while playing that dangerous game.

​

"Be nice to animals and don't be cruel."

This message we learned at home and school.

"But the ones we eat?  Don't think of their pain.

If you open your heart, you have nothing to gain."

​

And so it goes, the stories we're told,

"Eating animals is fine," is the lie we were sold.

​

SO PLEASE THINK!
